Is the sale of Skype the biggest crowdsourcing opportunity in the world today?

Today came word that EBay has sold 65% of Skype with over 405 million registered users to private investors who include Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz for the sum of roughly $2 billion. With the ongoing legal wrangles between EBay and the Skype's original founders and the business misfit between EBay and Skype the current CEO has left Private Equity to exploit Skype. It is one of the most innovative companies that has been left untapped for too long with an explosion in bottom up crowdsourcing and crowdfunding. Perhaps the video below explains it best that you need a Jobs for Apple, a Gates for Microsoft, a Zuckerberg for Facebook and an Andreessen for Skype. We shall see...the record industry didn't get it, the TV/film industry didn't get it and now Skype/EBay didn't get it...what if 405,000,000 registered users crowd source capital, crowd source design, crowd source movies, well you get the point even if they didn't...Crowd Source Capital predicts there will be over a billion users on Skype within 36 months with a very different business model.
